
Japanese pianist Modan Oyama is currently studying at the Osaka College of Music under the tutelage of Keiji Serizawa. Born in Japan in 2005, Modan started classical ballet at three years old and piano at four. A prize-winner of numerous international competitions including the 3rd Cliburn International Junior Competition (semi-finalist), first prize and audience award at the Young Verona Piano Competition (2021) in Verona, Italy, third prize at the 24 th OSAKA International Music Competition, and top prize at the Salzburg-Mozart International Chamber Music Competition in Tokyo (2024), among others.
Modan was a finalist in the 48th PTNA Piano Competition and performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at Suntory Hall in October 2024. He is the recipient of PTNA’s 11th Yasuko Fukuda Award.
